so i just finished serpent & dove by shelby mahurin in one (1) day and GUYS. it’s so good. anyway, here are some reasons to read it:

- witty banter
- pub songs
- morally grey characters
- female heroines who are feisty and stabby and curse-wordy and witty and sexy and more experienced than the male protags, but who are also allowed a wide range of emotions and femininity and laughter and enjoyment of life without any of it undermining the aforementioned badassery.
- cursing in french
- cursing in english (a lot)
- no hexes tho.
- just lots of glowy gold patterns and blood magic. a few potions too.
